I feel this mixture of euphoria and fear at being a young inexperienced writer up against a mass of other authors charging in the same direction: to publish their work. I at times wonder, what is it about writing that so many want to publish? The reward of publication isn’t even that great for the average writer, financially speaking. And yet this passion of so many becomes a stampede of authors trying to storm into the literary market. And in this stampede, authors will be trampled, wounded, and yet they’ll continue to charge forward. What brave, determined individuals they all are. Truly, I am proud to be a participant of this inexplicable, literary madness.
